I'm Jan, my husband is Larry, and we raise Harlequin, Mantle and Blue Great Danes. We live in the small rural community of Wellington, Ohio, on three acres with our eight Great Danes. We have three children, Nikki, Kory and Andrea. Nikki and her husband, Scott, live in CA, Kory is serving in the United States Air Force and Andrea is a senior in high school and will be heading to CA to The Academy of Art University this fall.

We are active in showing our Great Danes. I owner-handle and Larry is the ringside groomer. In 2007 we “Specialed” Jack and he finished up the year as the # 1 Harlequin, ranked 12 in the Top Twenty and 12 in the Group Standings. We are quite proud of Jack’s accomplishments last year. I am showing Lola this year and hoping to complete her Championship she needs just singles to finish. We also have a blue boy “Clark” from our repeat breeding of Dixie to Indy. Clark has started his show career this spring and is already pointed from the puppy class. 2008 has already been a very exciting year for us our as Lotus, one of the original Dixie Chicks, has set another “blue” record she is the youngest Blue to go Best in Show. She did this on April 20, 2008. Lotus is owned by Mandy and Mark Robinson.

I am a member of the Great Dane Club of America and also treasurer and member of the Great Dane Club of Cleveland.

We believe in breeding for the betterment of the breed. We breed by the Great Dane Club of America Code of Ethics with particular attention paid to temperament, health and longevity. Our Danes are OFA'd for the hips and  elbows, thyroid tested, eye cerf and cardio cerf.

Though we truly love this breed, Great Danes are not for everyone. If you are considering purchasing a Great Dane puppy please do your homework and thoroughly research the breed and breeders. Do not buy your puppy from a backyard breeder. The price might seem too good to pass up but believe me the money you think you are saving will cost you more in vet bills and heartache.
